It offers a slim fit at the hip with a slight flare to the knee. made up of pieces of Alabama Chanin's organic cotton waffle fabric in vetiver, wax, and natural, the skirt also features hand-painted details, lightweight jersey trim at the hem, and a satin-smooth, wide elastic waistband. herringbone stitching provides embellishment and stretch throughout.

the helton skirt is hand sewn and runs true to size, measures approximately 25" in length. it is 100% organic cotton waffle knit. we recommend gentle wash + hang to dry.

the book introduces 5 simple zero waste pattern blocks—t-shirt, skirt, tank top, shirt, and trousers—which can be transformed into 15 additional designs through small modifications or by mixing and matching. with clear pattern layout instructions and templates, sizes range from uk 6–30/us 2–26. once you’ve mastered the basics, the design possibilities are endless.

in this session, you’ll learn classic stitching techniques and create your own one-of-a-kind tea towel using alabama chanin’s signature scraps. each participant will receive a tea towel tissue pattern, a curated selection of fabric remnants, thread, and guided instruction from the alabama chanin team.

rooted in the principles of zero waste and thoughtful making, this workshop is a chance to slow down, work with your hands, and leave with something both beautiful and useful. all skill levels welcome.
